Between September and November 2011, SEWAK conducted series of orientation programs for the Gram Rojgar Sewak (GRS), a new genre of grass root level functionaries created under MGNREGA to promote implementation of the scheme, as well as manage information relating to it under an E-governance frame-work. They would now handle details of job card holders, job demands, allocations, muster roll of labors and so on, taking up much of the workload of the block level Computer Programmer (CP), who previously handled these affairs.
