With UNICEF support channelized through Orissa Voluntary Health Association (OVHA), SEWAK is implementing Surakshya Project in all blocks of Sundargarh district as lead partner in a network of 16 district based NGOs. The program aims at creating sensitization, awareness, and advocacy for Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices and promoting BCC in target population.

To garner substantial support from the governmental agencies working in the related sector for effective implementation of the program in the district, SEWAK organized a one-day orientation training of CDPOs and Senior Lady Supervisors of ICDS (Integrated Child Development Scheme) projects from all 17 community blocks at Pragati Mandap, Sundargarh on 17 August 2011. Following the orientation, the CDPOs and Supervisors would constitute a Monitoring & Facilitating Team each for undertaking subsequent activities regarding implementation of the scheme in respective project area.
